Swedac investing in Green IT-security solution

Swedac chose to replace their existing solution to a more environment friendly alternative. Nordic Edge One Time Password Server, a safer and more cost-effective solution than they previosly used.

Swedac Swedac is a government agency sweden who is dedicated to ensure that products and services must be safe and reliable. They act for a sustainable development and increased competitiveness. The areas of operation are varied and include among other things, quality assurance enviromental effects, safety, health and effective utilisation of resources.

Swedac employees can with their laptops access all Swedac systems through Juniper SA SSL VPN Aplliance and its client (called Network Connect). This connection between employees and the office is protected by one-time passwords from Nordic Edge One Time Password Server. This means that users who are often on the move can work remotely with access to their, for example, diary system and management system as if they were sitting in one of Swedac´s offices. This type of access is protected by more than just username and password. Nordic Edge provides security based on two factors, something you know (username + password) plus something you have (one time password) - two factor authentication.

Nordic Edge develops solutions for identity and access management for local networks and cloud services. During this spring Nordic Edge launched a campaign to improve the enviroment and the IT security at the same time. Swedac chose Nordic Edge´s solution with one time passwords via software tokens or SMS, while Nordic Edge donated money to Rainforest Alliance in the customers name.
